AND YOUR RANDOM QUESTION IS...
b: "so moving sure gets expensive! what is a cheap tip when decorating a living room? or any room - up to you! just something affordable but with a lot of character?"
s: "I have been decorating on the cheap ever since I can remember, long before I fell into this profession. It's all about being shopping savvy, sometimes a little DIY elbow grease is needed and definitely patience. If possible, I suggest investing in one piece, like a sofa for example (btw love your new sofa bri!). It should last you for many, many years to come and it's a great base to build your room off of. Then, it's time to get your shop on at garage sales, thrift stores, craigslist, flea markets, etc. Yes, it does take a little extra time to dig, but treasure hunting is all part of the fun. Mixing new and found pieces will leave you with a space that looks like it was put together over time. Good luck!"

I have that same KitchenAid mixer. The color is called pear and it's my most prized possession… even though it does clash horribly with my designed-and-decorated-in-the-70s kitchen.
i've been dying to get a kitchen aide!! why are they so expensive!
anyway, i have never heard of mend. i just went and visited the site. it's really neat!
love no.2 and no.6!
Awesome tips. Totally agree that it does take patience when decorating; delayed gratification is the name of the game.
