R E M E M B E R / T H E T I M E S
high school, let me just paint you a small picture of me....i carried this journal EVERYWHERE. i had a nerdy roll of tape in my backpack with a stack of magazines and i would slowly rip out pages when the teachers were talking and tape them in this massive thing. it's my very own little time capsule. i especially like the page where i "figured it all out"....it reads...
Age 16:
"i finally know what i want to be when i grow up! a GRAPHIC DESIGNER! i love looking at Nylon magazine, not only because of the cool outfits, but i think its really interesting how they place the letters on the pages. And I don't think most people notice that. That's it, i want to work for a magazine..."
and i didnt land too far off....

oh my god bri... sitting in slaughter's class with this book...
also, i am full on stalking you/your blog.
it's just great how you keep up doing with what you do. you're lucky to realize your inspiration at a young age. some people suffer their lives taking up things that they hate.
right on!

Oh my gosh. I have the SAME thing! I have books and books of cut up magazines and saved editorials all glued together, and (as you know) I ended up being a graphic design too! That's awesome.
This is amazing!! I so used to do the same thing. I would cut out articles and images and "replace" them in my own book so I liked the layout and look, lol. Yours is a bit larger than mine though, lol!!
There is no price for how valuable this book is. I would love to read through a collage journal from my wacky high school days.
