he just totally gets me. i feel like i could tell him all my deepest darkest secrets at a slumber party while eating bon bons in our bright pjs. jonathan adler's design aesthetic is the most magical thing in the world i believe. and this perfectly colorful mix of retro +glam styled apartment featured in Elle Decoration this year just really seals the deal for me!

yesterday a co-worker of mine left a cd on my desk labeled "Ladies Only"...i put it in my car hoping it would alleviate some of my stress from a wretched evil commute from the westside to the eastside, and oh boy it did just that! it was an mp3 cd, so it fit about 60 songs, each of which i loved. i sat in dead stop traffic bopping my head & singing at the top of my lungs to the jazzy voices of ladies like aretha, winehouse, etta and many many more. i don't think i will need to listen to anything else for about 2 1/2 years or so.

so with all the work madness going on we missed out on the top 3 music songs of the week last week...but dana pulled through for me and i was finally able to find the time to get back into the groove. so voila, here they are!

1. “symphonies” (dan black) – paired with the track to “umbrella,” dan black is one of the most innovative artists of our time. attached to the robyn/kelis “all hearts tour” this summer, dan’s vision & sound is beyond our time. he mixes electro with rhythm and everything in between, creating a sound that’s sure to catch the ears of many. check out his full album “un.”

2. “ittle secrets” (passion pit) – nothing short of energy, the “higher” hook on this track is pure magic – seemingly fitted for clubs, radio, even that lazy day on the beach soaking up the sun. on repeat, all day everyday.

3. “dog days are over” (florence + the machine) – this is one in which you can feel the passion in lead vocalist Florence welch’s voice. a voice that reminds me slightly of that of adele’s, “dog days are over” from florence + the machine’s debut album “lungs” feels like summer + and screams happiness…a gorgeous intro gradually leading up to the infectious hook that’s taken the liking of this summer’s “eat pray love” film trailer. this single is not to miss!

there is just something about my friend mandisa wright's photos that make me so happy. these are some shots of my friends that live in brooklyn. they are each wonderful, hilarious and stylin in their own way. i love how she captures a moment, and it feels like i am hanging out with them across the country. i miss you, friends.

i had the pleasure of working with max wanger last week on creating a portfolio lookbook of sorts for him. he was fantastic to work with and we definitely saw eye to eye the whole time. projects (and clients!) like this are what make me love what i do.
